iam install ostube2.0 on centos4.4 server!
only install apache php mysql no mmplayer and more
erverthing is right.but i Button "next"
The database could not be created.
mysql user root and password is ok .i try on phpmyadmin
then i use phpmyadmin new database named "ostube"
then message is Caution: The database already exists. If you click "Next" the current database will be deleted! (you most likely want this);
and ervery time like this ......
what i should do??
by the way i am chinese student,and english is poor,sorry!~

please check if the mysql server adress is correct. Most configurations only allow connections from localhost. So if you configured your IP adress it meight be that the user can't connect to the database then because he's not allowed to.
Plus: make sure you aren't using the root user. Create a user for that ostube database and give all privileges to that user.

I have a suspicion... Please check in the GD section of that installation page if all picture formats are activated. If not, (re)install the php-gd extension and try again.

The mysql user you use most likely doesn't have the right to create databases. Please make sure that's the case or create the database beforehand.

Same problem. Have even tried using user ROOT and the DB cannot be created. If I create the DB beforehand, it refuses to advance to step 2.
Also, the Community version I downloaded did not contain config.php - I had to download a previous version and copy that file from there.

I have the exact same problem, tried everything mentioned above nothing works.
Tried different users, they all have access to create.
Tried creating the db first, same message as mention previously (ask me if I really want to do this, I click next and it stays on step 1).
I'm using the community edition for now, I'm evaluating different solution to eventually purchase a commercial license.

Did you've checked if you have the PHP-GD extension installed? The missing or corrupt GD extension installation usually is the problem at this point when it doesn't want to jump to step 2.

create a database named 'ostube' by phpmyadmin.
then create a user have all Privileges by database 'ostube'
and run setup 2 ,then pass .

Yes that's the usual way one would do an installation. If your database user you are gonna use for ostube doesn't have the right to create databases then you have to create that database and grant all privileges to that user before starting the installation of course.

When I delete the database it says:
The database could not be created.
Seriously... if this problem is already on the community version of osTube, people wont buy the paid versions at all...

Well - very few people have that problem here. In most cases it means either the database user you try to use doesn't have the right to create/delete a database on your database server. Or you try to configure a database server unreachable for the script (at an other machine for example). So please check that.

If you are Reseller Host
Logging to WHM Panel an Click on Security > Then > Security Center > PHP open_basedir Tweak an check the following domain you wanna disable PHP open_basedir on.
